The city is home to about half a million people. Edinburgh boasts a number of exquisite parks and gardens with Holyrood Park being one of the largest natural parks in the city centre in Europe. Today, Edinburgh is known worldwide as a tourist mecca, as a major centre of administration and finance and as the site of one of the world's largest international arts festival.
